Do you perform the work yourselves, or just assess it?
Yes. GroundState documents the conditions, defines the scope, and can perform the work through completion. Services include mold remediation, asbestos inspection and abatement, structural drying, containment, controlled demolition, fire and smoke cleaning, odor control, carpet and surface cleaning, contents protection and pack-out, project management, and closeout documentation. Assessment-only and oversight engagements are also available. Laboratory analysis and independent third-party clearance are incorporated when required.
Can GroundState stay involved from the first assessment through completion?
Yes. The initial findings become the working basis for the protocol, estimate, containment or equipment plan, field work, progress records, verification preparation, and closeout. Clients may use GroundState only for the assessment or retain one team for the entire project.
When should I bring you in — before or after work starts?
Bring GroundState in as early as practical. On planned work, documenting the conditions before materials are disturbed preserves the starting evidence and creates a defensible scope. On active losses, assessment, stabilization, and documentation may occur together so the response is not unnecessarily delayed.
What is a Category 3 loss, and why does it matter?
Category 3 refers to grossly contaminated water — sewage backups, for example. It changes what can be cleaned versus what must be removed, the protective measures the work requires, and the documentation the claim will need. Classifying the loss correctly, early, keeps the project and the claim aligned.
Do you work with insurance claims?
Yes. GroundState prepares findings reports, photo reports, moisture records, work plans, estimates, scope reconciliation, and closeout files that owners, contractors, adjusters, public adjusters, and other reviewers can act on. Coverage decisions remain with the insurer and applicable policy.
What will I receive at the end of an assessment?
A written deliverable matched to the engagement — typically a findings report with photos identifying the conditions and affected materials, and where applicable, a written work plan defining containment, procedures, and verification criteria. You'll know what we found, what we recommend, and why.
